Casillas has Porto offer

David De Gea’s arrival at Real Madrid means Iker Casillas will be joining FC Porto as Madrid continue negotiation with Manchester United.

Manchester United have tried their best and failed to convince their number one keeper David de Gea to ignore an offer from La Liga giants Real Madrid.

“An offer from FC Porto exists and Casillas is enthusiastic with that possibility”, Casillas’s agent Carlo Cutropia told Marca.

Valid point brought up here as Casilla is a gigantic step down from De Gea.

Real Madrid will say goodbye to Casillas on Friday at a special event at its Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, club sponsor BWIN said Wednesday night on Twitter.

Casilla, 28, has made more than 100 appearances for Espanyol and was handed his Spain debut in last year’s friendly defeat against Germany.

After 25 years at Real Madrid, it seems like Iker Casillas is set to depart his boyhood club this summer.

This likely is the end for Casillas at Real Madrid.

He lost his starting place under ex- Bernabeu coach Jose Mourinho and also struggled at last year’s World Cup, where Spain went out in the group stages.

Casillas earns €6.5 million net per season and Marca reports that Porto are only willing to pay half of this wages.

Real Madrid are keen to ensure Casillas’ future is resolved before he has to join them for their pre-season tour of Australia.

The 34-year-old has spent his entire career at the club and has helped them to win five league titles and the Champions League twice.
