The hospitals and their new names include: Franciscan St. Anthony Health – Crown Point will become Franciscan Health Crown Point and Franciscan St. Anthony Health – Michigan City will become Franciscan Health Michigan City.

Franciscan Alliance officials also said the rebranding will help emphasize the healthcare and cost advantages of a larger system, and help attract the best clinicians and staff. With the rejiggering, 12 of 14 hospitals in the family will change names.
Franciscan St. Anthony Health in Crown Point, Indiana will be renamed as Franciscan Health Crown Point.
All of the name changes take effect Monday, Sept. 12.
Franciscan Health Munster and Franciscan Health Rensselaer in IN will retain their names, as they are already consistent with the new brand.
“Using the name health we really feel like it pulls all of what we offer together”, Decker said. Those hospitals will be known Franciscan Health, along with the city.
“Franciscan is who we are”, Klein said.
Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Franciscan Health Crawfordsville Terry Klein said the hospital “wanted to take an integrated approach with the name Franciscan”.
The name change takes effect September 12 and the parent organization will retain the name Franciscan Alliance.
This is a strategic and necessary action in the new and evolving healthcare environment in which system alignment matters.
The system said the move will better align the organization’s facilities.
“Unified names for each hospital will create broader awareness of our standing as a large, multistate Catholic healthcare system with nationally recognized centers of excellence, numerous joint ventures, partnerships and physician relationships”, said Kevin Leahy, president and CEO of Franciscan Alliance.
Changes to hospital signage, literature, and business systems will be accomplished over time to minimize expenses, Leahy noted.

“We will let things such as letterhead and business cards run out (and then change the logo with the replacements)”, Decker offered.
