Cause for concern: 2 reasons Cowboys need to stay frosty vs Washington

The Cowboys will host their annual Thanksgiving day game, and this year they welcome the Washington Redskins.

Running back Elliott leads all running backs in yards this season, and broke the Cowboys rookie rushing record on Sunday with six games left to play.

The Redskins are trying to gain some ground in the NFC East race towards another division title and the Cowboys are trying to win their 10th straight game to get closer to a division win and a first round bye in the playoffs. Washington quarterback Kirk Cousins was struggling at the time but has since come on to tally up a 98.8 passer rating with 17 TD’s and 7 INTs.

Prescott has completed 67.7 percent of his passes for 2,640 yards with 17 touchdowns, and two interceptions for the Cowboys. This would apply doubly for the Giants, who sit only two games back of Dallas with a pending match in NY, where the Giants could gain first place in the NFC East with a win if they come in only a game back of Dallas. There’s no question the Cowboys have been extremely impressive, with rookies Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott shining.

COWBOYS Elliott broke Tony Dorsett’s team rookie rushing record with 23-97 (10-70 in 3 quarter) to give him 1,102 rushing yards for season (110.2 ypg).

Cowboys backup tackle Chaz Green is inactive for the seventh straight game with foot and back injuries.

“Obviously with Robert and Alfred, they had taken the league by storm”, Redskins linebacker Ryan Kerrigan said.

Cousins said he’s excited about the opportunity to play on Thanksgiving, because of the tradition of the event. The Cowboys have not lost since Week 1, featuring two incredible rookies on offense who are leading the way.

“I think he is exactly the kind of player, if the Rams drafted him, you build your team around”. He had two receivers eclipse 100 yards (Pierre Garcon, Jamison Crowder) and it was nearly three with Jordan Reed, who had 79 yards on the night. “They have a lot of confidence in their team”.

“I just simply missed the garbage can and didn’t think much of it. Get up and put my trash where it belongs”.

If the Lions beat Minnesota for the second time this month and sweep the season series, they would win the head-to-head tiebreaker if both teams are tied at the end of the regular season.

Oh, and that breakaway speed, as seen on an 83-yard screen pass for a touchdown that sparked a sluggish offense in a win at Pittsburgh.

However, veteran receiver Dez Bryant, who should be fine to play despite a back problem, isn’t getting too carried away.

Elliott fumbled twice in that game, almost costing the Cowboys a chance to complete their 27-23 comeback win, and ended that game on the bench in favor of veteran Alfred Morris.
