Sports’ The Vertical on Monday, the Cleveland Cavaliers have rewarded head coach Tyronn Lue with a new contract.

The deal is worth $35 million over five years, sources relayed.

Lue notably made key in-game adjustments during the playoffs, and specifically against the Golden State Warriors in the Finals.

The Cavaliers and Lue had begun negotiations soon after the NBA Finals. He had the backing off star forward LeBron James and had the on-court experience to mesh with players on the team.

Tyronn Lue is still basking in the glow of his first title as coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

And after falling down 3-1 to the very same Warriors in the Finals, Cleveland mounted an unbelievable comeback to bring a title back to the city for the first time in over a half century. An assistant for the Boston Celtics from 2009 through 2013, he then moved on to the Los Angeles Clippers before ultimately landing in Cleveland as an associate head coach.
