Cavani strikes back with four goals as PSG sink Caen
Edinson Cavani hit FOUR first-half goals as PSG ran riot in their new third kit in their Ligue 1 fixture at Caen.

Cavani had been the target of harsh criticism after Tuesday’s Champions League opener, where he took eight shots on goal and only scored one, missing some sitters in the process and sending his side held 1-1 by English Premierships’ Arsenal in Group A.
Then, with little over 10 minutes left to play, substitute Jean-Kevin Augustin got in on the act, emphatically hammering home after Adrien Rabiot and Maxwell combined.
“We have confidence in Edinson”.
Damien Da Silva headed narrowly wide for Caen before PSG opened the scoring in the 12th minute, Cavani turning the ball in at the back post after Lucas had dummied a low Maxwell cross from the left.
But the Uruguayan had not finished there as he made it 4-0 in first-half added time, dragging a first-time shot across Vercoutre from Thomas Meunier’s neat pass.
Cavani, who accepted the blame for PSG’s draw with Arsenal, was withdrawn at half-time and the magnificent Di Maria was replaced on the hour-mark as PSG coach Unai Emery protected his stars ahead of Tuesday’s home match against Dijon. And we need to improve so that our opponents don’t score against us.

The Uruguay striker’s performance helped PSG end a three-game winless streak and move to the top of the league standings, level on points with Monaco, which hosts Rennes on Saturday.
