Cavs vs Wizards Final Scores, Results and Updates: Cavaliers on top

Kyrie Irving looked plenty healthy while going toe-to-toe with one of the best point guards in the Eastern Conference on Monday. That led to the Cavs besting the Raptors 64-44 in the second half.

Wall and Garrett Temple shot a combined 10 of 37 for Washington, which went 4 of 29 from 3-point range and scored seven second-quarter points.

The fact the Wizards also screened an ill-conceived in-house promotional video in which fans dressed in Cavaliers jerseys said Wall should start over Irving in the All-Star Game next month – a nod to Wall’s comments late last month that Irving’s superior vote total, despite his injury, was a “joke” – undoubtedly provided a little extra fire, though Irving downplayed it after the game. That’s a very fair statement but tonight it was Irving who proved his worthiness of an All-Star bid.

Irving says he has no beef with Wall using him as an example of why the Washington Wizards point guard feels the NBA’s All-Star voting system is flawed. The Raptors are 19-3 when they keep opponents under 100.

Russell Westbrook had 20 points, seven rebounds and seven assists for the Thunder. Then there’s Los Angeles point guard Chris Paul, Washington’s John Wall – the reigning Eastern Conference Player of the Month – Portland’s Damian Lillard and a few others.

Scans this summer found no trace of cancer, but Leah has been undergoing treatment to help rebuild and immune system that was destroyed by chemotherapy.

Tristan Thompson has functioned well in any role this season – leading all reserves in rebounding when he was coming off the bench and helping the Wine and Gold to a 6-1 record in the starting lineup.

Two dunks and a 3-pointer by James, Irving’s layup and Matthew Dellavedova’s 3-pointer keyed the spurt for Cleveland, which led 90-78 going into the fourth.

When the Cavaliers embarked on a long trip last season, players went bowling to try to shake off a six-game skid. After they tied it, Washington wouldn’t score another point for four minutes.

San Antonio shot 68 percent from the floor in the first quarter and never looked back, winning for the sixth straight time.

Both teams shot over 53 percent from the field.

Anthony Davis had 26 points and 12 rebounds for the Pelicans.

It wasn’t only the aforementioned All-Stars that got the job done tonight. LeBron James doubled up; finishing with 34 points and 10 rebounds in 40 minutes of action while J.R. Smith was smoking all night, hitting 5-of-10 from downtown to account for his 25 points.

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored 21 points and reserve Brandon Jennings supplied 17 points and six assists in his fourth game of the season as Detroit blew out Orlando.

Guard Kyle Lowry had 23 points and 10 assists and guard DeMar DeRozan had 19 points for the Raptors, who twice rallied from big deficits before the Cavs pulled away for good in the fourth. DeJuan Blair and Gary Neal are questionable.
