CBI arrests Haryana civil judge Ravneet Garg for wife’s murder
When Geetanjali’s body was discovered, there was a service revolver registered under her husband’s name.

Cbihas arrested a Civil Judge from HaryanaRavneet Garg in connection with the Murderof his wife Geetanjali over three years after she was found dead in mysterious circumstances in 2013.
This is the first arrest in the sensational case, which was shrouded in mysteries, right from July 17, 2013, when Geetanjali’s body was found at Police Lines.
A case was registered by CBI on the request of Haryana Govt and after the Government’s notification.
“The arrested accused was produced today in the Courtof Special Judicial Magistrate, CbiCases, at Panchkula (Haryana) and was remanded to five days police custody”, she said.
Garg, then chief judicial magistrate of Gurgaon, was booked under murder and dowry charges by the Haryana police, which had initially dubbed the incident as suicide.
Geetanjali’s brother Pardeep Aggarwal, who was the complainant in the case, had said in the FIR that her in-laws were not happy about two girls being born to the couple and that there was “discontent” and “dispute” over this.

A murder case was filed after Geetanjali’s family lodged a complaint against Ravneet Garg and his family. After it took over the probe, the CBI put Garg through lie-detector test and brain-mapping tests. The case attracted a lot of attention after her family took their fight to social media. They also started a Facebook group, “Justice for Geetanjali”.
