CBS to Air ‘Late Show’ & ‘Late Late Show’ Post-Super Bowl 2016
The Super Bowl is one of television’s biggest events as it is routinely watched by over 100 million viewers, therefore giving the post-game timeslot a huge opportunity for a massive boost in its ratings.

Additionally, after the local news airs around the country at 11 p.m., CBS will continue its late night celebration with a Super Bowl edition of The Late Late Show With James Corden. Post-Super Bowl episodes command a few of the highest ad rates on TV (sources say spots in the live “Late Show” could go for $800,000), so regardless of whether Colbert’s “Late Show” gets a true ratings jolt, the network comes out ahead.
“Stephen’s the first late night host from SC, and the bajillionth white guy”, Ansari said on the show. ABC launched “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on Super Bowl Sunday in 2003, but it aired following an episode of “Alias”.
As E! News was the first to report, Adam Levine and Maroon 5 are now in talks to headline the Super Bowl halftime show. Stephen Colbert has landed the coveted post-Super Bowl time slot on CBS this winter.
Well, on Super Bowl Sunday in February…
The stars of “Ash vs. Evil Dead”, Bruce Campbell and Lucy Lawless stopped by last night’s LATE SHOW and had a slight disagreement about who caused all the trouble with the Deadites. It will be followed by The Late Late Show with James Corden.
Since THE LATE SHOW with STEPHEN COLBERT debuted on September 8, it has generated an immediate impact on ratings, pop culture and social media conversation.

According to numbers released Thursday by Nielsen, Kimmel averaged 2.6 million viewers for the week of November 2, compared to Colbert’s 2.5 million.
