The incident that took place on April 23 came to light almost 10 days later after the victim made a decision to open up about it. Based on a complaint given by the PG owner on Monday, police took up probe and detained one person. She said, “He caught me around the waist, held me tighter & took me away”.
She told Deccan Chronicle, “I finish my work by 9-9.30 pm and reach my PG around 9.45 pm”.
Demanding the assailant’s arrest, she alleged that the man’s intention was to sexually assault her. She said, “I feel this because I had bag, purse and mobile with me, and he did not target them”.
Asked about police response, she said police asked her to file a case, but the owners of her paying guest suggested against it, saying it may cause problems for her.
The PG owner had filed a complaint in which he claimed the woman had stated that she will decide on filing the complaint after discussing the issue with her family. “I think his intention was to sexually assault me”. I called the uncle who runs the PG. “The man who molested me had covered his face with a monkey cap and I couldn’t see his face”. He immediately asked the senior officials of Police to take a strict action against this case.

The police say that the CCTV footage is enough for them to act without waiting for a complaint from the woman, but the man has not been found yet. Home Minister G Parameshwara has promised action. The victim was apparently standing right outside her PG accommodation, but noone came forward to help.
