All other slides and attractions at the current Soak City park will receive makeovers, too, with most receiving new names to highlight the Lake Erie beachside location.

Cedar Point says new menu includes items include fresh-baked flat breads, farm stand salad options, pesto-glazed grilled chicken sandwiches, fresh-breaded chicken tender, ; cheeseburgers, bratwurst, waffle fries, tater tots and more.

It will include a water slide called “Point Plummet” which is a 6-story tall water slide that drops four people down at a time. The four separate 400-foot-long slides will send riders through a series of flat loops and s-curves for an wonderful water rush.

The second is the Starboard Surge & Portside Plunge, which are two, five-story tube slides attached to the Point Plummet that can take single riders or pairs.

There’s 12, kid-sized water slides that line the perimeter of a zero-depth-entry pool, giving kids their own mini water thrills while parents can relax under shade structures and enjoy an oversized lounge and sun deck area. This expansion marks the first significant change to Cedar Point’s water park since 2012 when the Dragster H2O racing slides debuted.

Earlier this month, Cedar Point announced the wooden roller coaster Mean Streak will close.

Construction on Cedar Point’s Express Hotel is already in progress and will last throughout the winter. The new tower will match the exterior of the existing hotel and will have 158 guest rooms with many of them configured as connecting family suites.

The park is also renaming its Breakers Express hotel to the Cedar Point Express Hotel and will add 69 new rooms.

The park teased the big announcement earlier this week.

“There’s so much more to Cedar Point than most realize”, said Cedar Point General Manager Jason McClure. “No other amusement park can claim a mile-long beach and fresh water lake just steps away from the largest collection of rides on Earth”.
