Celebrate Giving Tuesday by giving back
In 2014, Black Friday sales revenue grew 26 per cent in Canada, while Giving Tuesday donations grew an “astounding” 205 per cent, a November 25 press release from the group says. The retail bonanza will continue until Christmas, but there is a day when one organization hopes that people will at least partially turn away from consumerism and consider the charitable side of the holiday season. Each year millions of Britons give their time and money generously because they share a common ethos: a desire to make the world a better place. Since 2012, online giving on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving has increased more than four-fold, based on findings by Blackbaud and the Indiana University’s Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, produced in partnership with the Case Foundation.

“What’s great about Giving Tuesday is people can be supportive, can be generous in any way they see fit”.
She received dozens of instruments from donor chooses “Giving Tuesday” campaign and is looking forward to more help on Tuesday.
What is #GivingTuesday? In its fourth year, the social media call to action to help “celebrate generosity and to give”. Together, they rallied different sectors together to give back and support local causes and communities.

In past years, Canadians have also contributed to the day through volunteering or giving donations other than money, such as food, shoes, or blood, the organizations at givingtuesday.ca say. The Empire State Building will also be lit in Smile Train’s red and blue colors on December 1st.
