The mammoth hit of Smartphone Game “Pokemon Go” has stunned the whole world. The phones would vibrate in the presence of nearby Pokemon, and players use their phones to “catch” the so-called Pokemon and even battle other players, just like in the original game. In just a few weeks, Pokemon Go has transformed a large number of individuals around the globe into creature-seekers.
According to security firm ESET, apps have been masquerading under similar Pokemon titles, attracting people looking for guides and cheats.
The malicious app has been revealed to overlay itself onto the system windows, which directly results in a locked screen.
Although terminating the app wouldn’t solve all of its harmful effects as it has been also identified to run in the background, and automatically “clicks” on porn advertisements.
The head of the developer behind Nintendo Co Ltd’s Pokemon GO said he wanted to launch the smash-hit mobile game in roughly 200 countries and regions “relatively soon” and was working on bolstering server capacity to enable the wider rollout. One can uninstall the app manually by going to their phone’s application manager. As per the blog post, the app was used between 500 and 1000 times before it was removed from the store.
According to data from App data Provider Sensor Tower, the Pokemon Go users are now spending around 33 minutes per day on the game as compared to Facebook’s 22 minutes per day, Twitter’s 17 minutes, and Snapchat’s 18 minutes.

The other two apps to be wary of are “scareware”, meaning that they trick users into paying for unnecessary services. Let us know if our little workaround worked for you in the comments section below! The game has been downloaded nearly 20 million times on both iOS and Android devices, while Nintendo has doubled its value, becoming even more productive than Mitsubishi in Japan, thanks to it. Users have been revealed to opt for an illegal version of the game, or even go for third-party applications for the objective of cheating the game, according to the Inquisitr.
