Some celebrities do seem to go above and beyond however, giving tremendous amounts of money or auctioning thrift personal goods and giving the proceeds to good causes whilst clearly not in it just for the PR. The compiled list below showcases some of the most generous celebrities.

Twenty-three year of country singer Taylor Swift was named the most charitable celebrity last year after donating $4 million to charity causes. Not only did the singer donate money but also attended the Westfield shopping centre in London, turning on the Christmas lights with ambassadors from the Save The Children charity. Taylor has also worked closely with the Save The Music Foundation, the Starkey Hearing Foundation and the Make-A-Wish foundation too.

Kristen Stewart, famous for the Twilight Saga films, appeared at the 12-12-12 concert where on stage she pleaded for the people watching to donate to the Hurricane Sandy Relief foundation. Again, the down-to-earth movie star also decided to donate one of her dresses worn to a Twilight red carpet event to the Robin Hood Foundation, where they later put it up for auction.

Ex-boyfriend and movie star partner of Kristen, Robert Pattinson also makes the list as one of the most generous celebrities in Hollywood. Signing an ESP LTD Xtone guitar and auctioning it of for $1,280 which was then forwarded to The Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund. $80,000 was also raised by Robert at a meet and greet event and the funds raised were then donated to the GO Campaign to build a more permanent residence for PAGE (Program Advancing Girls Education) as well as many other charity acts.

Needing no introduction, Rihanna is also no stranger to the charity fundraising game and actually founded her own charity, the Believe Foundation. Believe states that it is a foundation that looks to allow children to thrive rather than just survive where children have no reliable access to medical services, schooling facilities or clothing. Rhianna is also a supporter of many other charities and has also helped an individual mother of two to find a bone marrow donor.

Ok, so this one isn’t a Hollywood celebrity, more of a UK one. Making millions from his radio and television work Chris Evans is a household name in the U.K and is noted as giving millions to charity. As well as giving bundles of cash away to good causes the star also takes part in different events to raise money for different causes. Just in recent months Chris has joined forces with Take That’s Gary Barlow, touring the country in a pink Rolls Royce to raise money for breast cancer. With his love of cars as his prominent passion he has also took part in charity challenges and numerous events such as The Super Car Event at Dunsfold Park which drew in 10,000 visitors and raised a whopping
