At their sell-out show at the famous Rose Bowl in Los Angeles, lead singer Chris Martin invited his fellow Brit, “The Late, Late Show” host James Corden, onto the stage to mark the TV host’s birthday. Corden said that he was nervous, but “thanks to the four of you on behalf of this audience.for this incredible night that you have given us all” before playing the song.

“Our concert last night was just a rehearsal for tonight”, he said to wild applause, quickly adding, “Don’t tell anyone I said that”.

After the performance, Chris presented James with a birthday cake and asked the crowd to sing “Happy Birthday“.

Frontman Chris Martin went back and forth between the guitar and the piano as he sang, and the group kicked off the concert with the title track from their latest album, “Head Full of Dreams”, and then performed tunes from their previous six records.

The sweet moment reduced James to tears, as he was spotted wiping his eyes while standing in front of the 38 candles. People love his “Carpool Karaoke” segments, and sometimes you even hear murmurings about him taking over the Late Show from Stephen Colbert.
