Celine Dion has shared a new song called “Recovering” in honour of her late husband.
The actress also revealed that she chose to share her cancer battle with fans so that she could tell her own story.
Celine Dion is back, y’all! The song, available on Apple Music and Spotify, will be featured in Celine’s forthcoming English album, AceShowbiz reports. The words to “Recovering” are as laborious as the actual process of mourning, taking listeners through the stages and lending a melody to that feeling of loss.
The lyrics include the lines: “I am recovering/The hope that I lost/The part of my soul/That paid the cost” and “Little by little/Day by day/One step at a time/Shake off the devil/Take back my peace of mind”. “Anxiety added. A broken perfectionist / somewhat erratic / I am recovering / A constant regretter / Hold it against her”. “She is just simply incredible, and getting to write a song for her is one of the biggest honours of my life”.
Images of her late family members were projected behind her during the performance. The new song she just released in his honor is going to break hearts all over again.
“Recovering” is the first single off Dion’s upcoming album.
