The older brother of Canadian singer Celine Dion has died of cancer, two days after her husband also died.

Claudette explained to the publication that her brother’s condition was very similar to Celine’s last husband Rene, who also died of cancer on Thursday (14Jan16).
Celine’s sister Claudette spoke to the Journal of Montreal late last week, revealing her brother was fighting a similar type of cancer as Rene.
Celine Dion is definitely at the peak of her emotions this week after the passing of her husband, Rene Angélil, on Thursday.
He was one of 14 Dion children. Funeral services will follow a few days later at St-Simon-et-Jude Church in Charlemagne.
According to Billboard, Angelil’s funeral will be held at Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal, with open hours to the public available in A Chapel of Rest from January 21 to January 22.
Dion has not made any recent comments on the site about her brother.
He was surrounded by family, including their 89-year-old mother when he was dying. He was 73 and had battled throat cancer. He died in Las Vegas where Celine has been headlining at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
The Canadian singer cancelled her weekend concerts in Las Vegas following the death of her husband, with a stage return set for next month, her official website said.
“He was ready, and isn’t suffering any more”, she said.
