The bereaved family in a statement said Daniel will be remembered as a gentle and reserved man of many talents.
Celine Dion has experienced a week were cancer has taken two of her love ones. Angelil died this morning of throat cancer at age 73.
Daniel Dion was eighth in a family of 14 children. His death was confirmed on Saturday (Jan. 16, 2016) hours after it was revealed he was suffering from cancer of the throat, tongue, and brain.
It was also announced that as part of Angélil’s final wishes, his funeral will be held at Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal, the cathedral where he married Dion nearly 22 years ago, E!
Angelil was her manager for decades and was constantly seen by her side.
We pray for the Dion family during this devastating time and will continue to keep you updated as more news surfaces.
Celine Dion is staying strong despite everything that is going on with her life, the passing of her husband and brother. The Dion siblings, including Celine, performed at their parents’ small piano bar called Le Vieux Baril (“The Old Barrel”) in the town of Charlemagne, Quebec.
The couple have three sons, Rene-Charles and 5-year-old twins Eddy and Nelson.
