Celine Dion says final goodbye to her late husband

The singer was stunned by the fans who lined up outside the church, where she Wednesday Rene 20 years ago, to pay their respects to the music mogul at a public viewing on Thursday (21Jan16), and she greeted hundreds of strangers as she watched over her late husband’s casket, dressed in black and wearing a veil.

Global pop superstar Celine Dion is now mourning the loss of two loved ones over cancer, putting the singer’s career, including the recording of her new album, into a standstill. The service was held in Montreal, Canada at Notre Dame Basilica church and was broadcast globally.

The boy’s father, Rene Angelil, lost his battle with cancer last week (14Jan16), aged 73.

Archbishop of Montreal Christian Lepine will preside over the ceremony, while some of Dion’s songs are to be played.

Dion, 47, arrived in a private auto with her eldest son, Rene-Charles, 14, and her twin sons, Nelson and Eddie, both 5. “All our lives, our dad told us ‘I love you, ‘ and now, more than ever, we are realizing how exceptional it is to have had a dad who never hesitated to say those precious words”, he said.

He said: “Fifteen years is not a long time for a son to get to know his father”.

Patrick Angelil, one of the deceased’s three adult children from two previous marriages, told the service his father was a loving man.

“The grand and handsome history of their love”, Marier said. And a lot of other wonderful food, bonding more and more as time went by.

Rene was born in Montreal, and they will also fly the flag at half-mast Friday at the Quebec National Assembly. She will return to Las Vegas to continue her residency at Caesars Palace Feb. 23, just a few weeks after his funeral.
