Celine Dion has spoken out publicly for the first time since her late husband Rene Angelil was laid to rest. “I thank you from the bottom of my heart”, Celine wrote.

Just two days after Angelil’s death, Dion also lost her brother Daniel to cancer.

Dion held hands with the couple’s twin boys Nelson and Eddy, five, throughout the service, while her eldest son, 14-year-old Rene-Charles, read a moving eulogy to his father. Your testimony and your support helped us, more than you can imagine to take this step and say our farewells.

Celine, her boys and René’s offspring then signed off: “We will never forget all of the kindness that you have bestowed upon us”.

“I might likewise want to truly thank the Quebec Government for respecting René with National Funerals and also the numerous people and associations who met up to hold such an excellent tribute in his name”, the message included. For our family, with the majority of our affection, Céline, René-Charles, Nelson &Eddy…Patrick, Jean-Pierre and Anne-Marie. The entire family rushed to the hospital when they heard of his condition, and they remained there until his death.
