“It will bring money into Scotland and rekindle football in Scotland having (Manchester) United, Arsenal and others”.

Deila, though, has not been placed under any kind of pressure by Desmond or his chief executive, Peter Lawwell, and appreciates their confidence in his methods as he prepares for this evening’s Europa League Group A visit of Fenerbahce of Turkey.

“I think that will happen in the UK with Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal and then I think they will institute a change in the structure of the league”.

Deila concedes that failing to overcome Malmo in the Champions League play-off round was a major disappointment, but insists he has had no doubts over his overall blueprint for the club.

” I feel like we are playing better football and in a better place but what we achieved under Neil Lennon was quite remarkable as far as European football goes”, said Commons. Changes in broadcasting technology will eventually lead to Celtic into a British league, the club’s majority shareholder, Irish financier Dermot Desmond, has declared. “Hopefully in the end we can get into the Premiership or a league that is more a British thing”.

I think that could be possible but again it’s not easy to do things very quickly in Britain.

. “He will always acknowledge the mistakes and that he is on a learning curve, but we are very confident about his future at Celtic”.

Celtic still have genuine aspirations of competing in a British League, says manager Ronny Deila.

“I don’t like sitting on the bench”.

Celtic boss Deila is also of the belief a move is likely, but the Norwegian acknowledged any final decision would take considerable time.
