Centennial alum Kessler will start for Browns on Sunday
Cody Kessler is the next man up for the Cleveland Browns after both Robert Griffin III and Josh McCown suffered injuries. He also was sacked seven times. His status is listed as day-to-day after undergoing an MRI on Monday. “And new coach Hue Jackson and his offensive coordinator, Pep Hamilton, were not high on Wentz but prized Goff, sources said, and made that clear to the rest of the organization”.

“You are going to trust me this weekend”, Jackson said with a smile. “Here we go, right?”
“We didn’t have anything serious coming out of that game and we’re really grateful for that”, Harbaugh said.
During his usual Monday press conference September 19, Harbaugh said no serious injuries came out of the win at Cleveland, despite the fact that it was a “very physical game”.
He’s a workaholic. At rookie minicamp, the Browns were surprised when they did a curfew check at the hotel to see all the rookie receivers in Kessler’s room studying the playbook – at Kessler’s insistence.
“It’s a physical game and you always have to be ready, ” Kessler said.
“Sometimes it doesn’t matter if you’re ready or not”, Jackson said. The 37-year-old was injured in the first quarter but didnt come out.
Fun fact: Belichick coached the Browns from 1991-1995, and his 36-44 record is better than any of the coaches that succeeded him in Cleveland. Why Charlie Whitehurst wants to take his chances are beyond me. I know it is in the shoulder/clavicle area.
Which pretty much sums up the way the Browns view Cody Kessler getting the start for the Browns Sunday in Miami.
As a freshman at USC, he took a mentoring class from former Browns quarterback Paul McDonald.
We also go through some of the other injuries that have happened, and how the team will adjust to them.
Four incomplete passes wrapped around just one run that went for 15 yards before punting is perplexing.
McCown is the second started quarterback lost by the Browns in two weeks. As you know, Griffin got his shoulder destroyed in the first game and may miss the rest of the season.
The injury to Griffin moved Kessler up the ladder to second team against the Ravens.
Coincidentally, Brissett and Kessler were drafted two picks apart in last Springs NFL draft, Brissett first at 91st overall and Kessler 93rd. I’m just excited to see where it goes. Against the Browns, the Ravens dug themselves a formidable hole with just under 11 minutes elapsed and spent the rest of the afternoon trying to make up the difference. He likes that part of it.

“I am sure they feel like their backs are against the wall”, Harbaugh said about the Jaguars. His last appearance was in the preseason when he completed 10 of 17 pass attempts in a loss to the Chicago Bears, Bleacher Report reported. Instead, McCown threw an interception on the next play.
