Centennial grad Cody Kessler drafted 93rd overall by the Cleveland Browns
“Trust me on this one”, Jackson said late Friday night after the Browns selected Southern California quarterback Cody Kessler in the third round.

In total, Kessler finished with a 27-14 record as a starter and stands third among USC quarterbacks in touchdown passes and completions.
The Browns committed financially to Griffin, and as the veteran on the roster it is feasible he would win the starting job this summer and become the 25th starting quarterback in Cleveland since 1999. He was near the top of his class in terms of accuracy, and his touchdown-interception ratio is definitely something to appreciate.
Brown said one of the team’s top offseason priorities was to add speed on both sides of the ball and the team will count on Ogbah to raise its sack total and the blood pressure of opposing quarterbacks and offensive coordinators.
“Hopefully a lot of us can contribute – whether it’s right away or down the line – but I think it’s going to be really cool to look back on in a couple years when this program is going in the right direction”, Kessler continued, “and see all that we’ve accomplished and in the time that we have”.
Celebrated draft picks Jared Goff and Carson Wentz were not the solution for the Cleveland Browns, but the franchise views their third-round pick as the potential answer at a position known mainly for turnover and turnovers since 1999.
Cleveland’s new Harvard-driven think tank of a front office stockpiled picks instead of taking another stab at a first-round quarterback.
“I know I can make all the throws and I know that I can lead a team”, Kessler said confidently.
The first selection in the second round brought offers from other teams, but the Browns, who twice traded down in the first round, stayed put and grabbed Ogbah, an edge rusher who had 13 sacks last season and 24 in the past two years.
Nassib was once told by former Penn State coach Bill O’Brien that he would never play in the pros. He also said he “would not sleep on Kessler” winning the job in August. That is a rare combination, it fits our scheme in the 3-4.

“I always had dreams of playing in the National Football League and a lot of people didn’t agree with that, but it never deterred me”, he said.
