Central Catholic linebacker La’Mar Winston commits to Oregon

CLOSE THOSE BORDERS! The Ducks picked up another big in-state commitment this evening, as Central Catholic’s La’Mar Winston committed to the Ducks on ESPN.

Oregon had been considered the frontrunner since it offered six months ago and Winston grew very comfortable with head coach Mark Helfrich and linebackers coach Erik Chinander, as well as assistant Don Pellum. The Ducks also signed four-star linebacker Darrian Franklin as well as three-star linebackers Hunter Kampmoyer and Troy Dye to its 2016 class. He declared a final seven of Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon and UCLA, and many believe his final two came down to Ohio State and Oregon.
