New Delhi, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh reached the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) headquarters on Friday for the second round of questioning in the case involving acquiring wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income.

It had said Singh allegedly attempted to legitimize the same as agricultural income by filing revised Income Tax Returns in 2012.
The BJP’s power-packed show in Allahabad, Eastern Uttar Pradesh this weekend is aimed at setting the tone for assembly elections next year when “Goonda Raj” will form the bulwark of the party’s attack against the ruling Samajwadi Party with a special focus being given to the recent violence in Mathura.
TheAsian Age had reported on 4 June that the party might stop just short of announcing a chief ministerial candidate and will, instead, appoint three or four leaders to assist Rajnath Singh. “All that they said was meant to divide backward and Dalit communities”, Yadav charged. The party hopes to extend its sweep of the 2014 national election – it had won 71 of UP’s 80 seats – to the assembly elections. Singh, while addressing a meeting in Mau on Thursday, advocated reservation for the most backwards among the backward castes.
“Personal aspirations of various party leaders are soaring, and you need to handle them with care”, said a senior BJP leader on condition of complete anonymity.
“The idea of holding the national executive meeting in Uttar Pradesh was because of the assembly elections early next year”. “Whatever support is sought is extended to Uttar Pradesh”, he said.

“Thousands of people had grabbed land in Mathura and the state government was unaware”, he said while adding that the Centre is ready to order CBI probe into the incident. The country can’t move ahead. “What is happening in the party is unfortunate”, Saroj, who belongs to a Scheduled Caste called Passi, told Scroll. Find us on Facebook too!
