Centre revokes AAP government’s suspension of 2 officials

The Delhi Government had yesterday suspended two senior officers of its Home Department after they refused to sign on a Cabinet decision file, following which around 200 DANICS-cadre officers have threatened to go on mass leave today.

Terming the suspension by an “intimidating” government as “illegal” the DANICS Officers’ Association sent a letter to the Union Home Minister, demanding that the Delhi government to revoke the suspension.

Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Satish Upadhyay also condemned the suspension of the two officers, saying it was harassing officials and demanded Jain’s resignation.

The DANICS Officers Association handed a decision to go on mass depart on Thursday and was supported by the IAS (AGMUT) Officers Association.

However, the Union Home Ministry termed the suspension as null and void.

The suspension of the officers has seeded another confrontation between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi and the Centre. If they had any problem with my order, they should have approached Chief Minister not LG. The way Kejriwal is running the government has created mess. As per sources, even IAS officers attached to the Delhi government have taken half-day leave in protest.
