The smartphone will run on Huawei’s latest Kirin 950 octa-core chipset, which they claim is their most powerful smartphone chipset yet.

The two new models add to the existing line of Huawei smartwatches a bit differently: rather than adding new features, the company has focused on their designs.

Mate 8 is one powerful phablet, but Huawei is not yet finished with releasing another slew of devices and with 2016 kicking off, what better way to start off the year than with the announcement of its P9.

The only difference between these and other Huawei watch models is the style. The Mate 8 sports Sony 16 mp IMX298 rear camera and an 8 mp front camera.

More interestingly, Huawei’s market share in high-end smartphones costing upwards of €400 went above 60% past year. It also comes with rapid charging technology, which enables the phone to charge a day’s worth of power in just 30 minutes.

It is also equipped with a speaker phone created to provide crisp call quality at up to three metres, making it easier to conduct conference calls. Other than that these new models are identical to the original device and feature the usuals like a heart rate monitor and motion sensors for fitness tracking.

The Chinese company says the Elegant and Jewel models of the Huawei Watch will be available in the first quarter of 2016, and the price is anyone’s guess, as Huawei said it’s in the same range of the current Watch lineup – between $350 to $800.

Color: The device will be available in four color variants that include Champagne Gold, Moonlight Silver, Space Gray, and Mocha Brown color variants.
