Cesc Fabregas sends message to Chelsea fans ahead of Arsenal trip

Leicester welcomed a formidable Chelsea side to the King Power Stadium on Tuesday for a English League Cup Third Round match that ended 4-2 in favor of the visitors.

The Blues were seemingly meandering towards half-time when Gary Cahill was given a free header from a corner to reduce their arrears.

“The second key was when Wasilewski was sent off”.

It had been a pulsating cup tie – particularly in the second half – with chances at both ends but Wasilewski’s dismissal for elbowing Diego Costa ultimately proved costly.

Chelsea looked more likely to win thereafter but they were thwarted by the home side repeatedly.

Xhaka scored a screamer from 30 yards in the first half.

Leicester should have done well to keep Chelsea at bay with a two-goal lead but credit must be given to the Blues for fighting back. “Some of Chelsea’s decision-making was abysmal”.

He has not featured much this season but netted twice in the EFL Cup win over Leicester City in midweek, and hopes to be in line to face Arsenal this coming weekend.

His was a performance to give Conte food for thought. We started very well and we were in control of the match.

The club have denied the claims but Fabregas added: “I think it was vital for us to beat Leicester”.

“I will give to him a very warm welcome back and I am sure also our fans they must appreciate what he did last season and give him a warm welcome”, said Ranieri.

“Cesc is Chelsea’s player, I am happy about him, for his attitude and his behaviour during training sessions”, the ex-Juventus boss said.

“I told the players to stay together and close the space”.

“It is a tough game and I am sure they are going to want to come pretty strong as they are not in any European competitions this year”.

Chalobah first appeared on the Blues bench at the age of 15 but nearly six years to the day, he made his first appearance as Chelsea registered a 4-2 win over Leicester City in the EFL Cup.
