Despite the Italian tactician moving to insist that the former Arsenal and Barcelona star has a future at Stamford Bridge, it doesn’t appear to have convinced Fabregas. But when asked about Fabregas’ omission, Conte said, “Cesc is Chelsea’s player and I’m happy with his attitude and behaviour”.
Cesc Fabregas was sent off in Chelsea’s pre-season friendly against Liverpool in USA. The Spain global was an unused substitute during the 2-1 win at Stamford Bridge, sparking speculation over his immediate future in west London.
Zidane hinted he might have to offload a player or two if he was to make a serious effort to land Fabregas, but he did not rule out a transfer for the 29-year-old.
According to Garcia, Zidane is adamant Rodriguez won’t be leaving: “James is here, I am happy with how he played, and he will be staying here”. I’m exhausted of having to give a response.
However, as with many of his teammates in the second year, they struggled to replicate that level of performance and finished a disappointing 10th which saw Jose Mourinho sacked in mid-season and Conte brought in to rebuild.
“The squad is complete, but anything can happen. We’re going to have to work and that’s all I want from my players”.
He added: “Regardless of what happens, I hope to be here in a year’s time and I’ll say the same thing”. I’m happy with the squad, the players I have and we won the European Cup with these players.
“The only thing that worries me, what I want, is to continue working hard because we won’t achieve anything by being Madrid”.

“He must know when you are at a great team like Chelsea I have to take decisions before the game, to choose a starting 11”.
