Daily Trusts reports that the first blast occurred around 5:15am when a university undergraduate, Hassan Mohammed Damagum, intercepted a suicide bomber that targeted worshippers in a community mosque at Buhari estate.

Nigeria’s military has claimed a series of successes against the insurgents and today said scores of rebel fighters were killed during clashes with troops south of Damaturu.

On Tuesday, 11 soldiers were killed and 13 injured in a Boko Haram attack on Chadian positions across the border.
“They should follow their colleagues who have so far surrendered, because failure to surrender will result in serious consequences as our troops are fast closing up on them”, it said.
Most attacks take place in the northeast and have spilled over into neighbouring countries that regularly suffer suicide bomb explosions and hit-and-run raids.
