The President seized on West’s abrupt praise Friday morning.

“I love when people have their own ideas”.

Some on social media have quipped that West is stuck in the sunken place as a member of the Kardashian family, as People pointed out. “And that black folks, in particular, should be grateful to our racist president for our low employment rate”, he tweeted.

Donald was clearly a fan of Kanye’s message, re-tweeting him and adding, ‘Thank you Kanye, very cool!’

West’s opening salvo in the track picks up the thread of the recent controversy: “I know Obama was Heaven sent, but ever since Trump won, it proved that I could be president”, West raps. “And we have the right to independent thought”.

The response to West’s tweets caused a long, wild day on his Twitter account, erupting into a divisive conversation about race, identity politics and mental health. “It’s my job (to) pick up the phone and talk to him about it”. “I can’t be managed”. West later said that he’d “like Scooter Braun to be a part of this new platform we’re creating”, and called his former manager “a genius”. “I always felt like Little Homie before and that allowed me in all of their circles”, Smith said. Who knows. – is set to appear on an upcoming seven-track solo record, which Kanye stated is set for release on Friday 1 June, and will be his first release since 2016’s The Life Of Pablo.

“I am thrilled to see someone like [West] have the courage”, he said on WMAL radio in Washington, “because it takes a lot of courage to go against the grain and have people say terrible things about you”.

Kanye explained why he made the decision to post their text thread to show that there was a contentious but respectful discourse between the two of them. He will also be producing projects for Pusha T, Teyana Taylor and Nas.
