The Chicago rapper was scheduled to perform at a NY benefit, before word came out via Billboard and TMZ that he had been taken ill. In response to Chance’s sudden hospitalization, Terminal 5 booked Anderson.Paak, Mark Ronson, and Joey Bada$$ to fill in, Billboard reported. The event aimed to raise money to fight poverty.

The Chatham native most recently appeared on “The Tonight Show” Starring Jimmy Fallon, where he debuted his new song “Blessings” off his upcoming album “Chance 3”, set for release Friday.
The rapper, whose real name is Chancelor Bennett, later tweeted: “Thank you for filling in for me and supporting a great cause”.
It’s not known if the news will effect the rapper’s wider plans.
It took a simple Tweet, late in the night, to bring some clarity to what was initially a complex situation after Chance the Rapper was hospitalized on Monday.

It’s not the first time Chance the Rapper’s had to cancel a show after being taken to hospital.
