Channel 5 to show new series of The X-Files
It is with his oversight that we bring you this new, behind-the-scenes clip from the set of the X-Files’ upcoming miniseries season. For his part, X-Files star David Duchovny seems to be excited to be back (or at least as excited as David Duchovny gets), while Gillian Anderson seems to be taking a somewhat odd, detached approach to the show’s return.

The brains behind the original show, Chris Carter, is working on the new instalment, which is due to be an epic six-episode series. Will you be watching The X-Files reboot? The X-Files returns with a two-night event kicking off January 24th.
“We’re playing with the mythology in a whole new way, and the government’s secreting of evidence about extraterrestrials might come into play”, said creator Chris Carter.
Along with Agents Mulder and Scully, The X-Files will also see the return of Mitch Pileggi as FBI Assistant Director Walter Skinner and William B. Davis as the mysterious Cigarette Smoking Man. Guest-starring are Joel McHale, Robbie Amell, Lauren Ambrose, Annet Mehendru, Rhys Darby and Kumail Nanjiani. What are we supposed to do until then? Take a look at the new first look below!
The X-Files six-episode event series will be broadcast on Channel 5 in the United Kingdom in early 2016 it has been announced.

“I can imagine what that must be like as a fan”, Anderson says of the excitement building before the premiere. There’s also an episode titled “Mulder and Scully Meet the Were-Monster”, which sounds sort of self-explanatory. The X-Files was just as big if not bigger than 24, and especially with all the time and effort FOX is putting into promoting this miniseries – with its post-football premiere slot – they have to be expecting big numbers.
