Charcandrick West ahead of Spencer Ware on depth chart

The Chiefs kept Knile Davis as their third running back behind Charcandrick West and Spencer Ware when rosters were trimmed over the weekend, giving them insurance if Charles is unavailable.

Kansas City was simply dominant in the second half last season, winning its final 10 regular-season contests, and is an impressive 7-1 in its past eight games against AFC West rivals. The Chargers’ first-round selection in the 2016 draft was defensive end Joey Bosa and his defensive linemates will be tasked with trying to contain the Chiefs running attack.

“I think it’s a stretch for him to play Sunday”, Reid said.

The Chiefs have dominated the Chargers over the last two years by going 4-0 in their last four meetings. “I think that way even if I’m on the sideline”.

Yes, they will be without their best defensive player, outside linebacker Justin Houston, for at least six weeks as he rehabs a surgically repaired knee. Watt returned to practice Monday for the first time since back surgery in July. Meanwhile, safety Eric Berry stayed away from training camp and the preseason until the end of August, unsuccessfully hoping to shed his franchise-tag status for a long-term deal. Previous year the Chargers were just 3-9 in games decided by eight points or less, plus injuries made it even worse. Melvin Gordon is projected to lead the backfield for the chargers in his sophomore season, but the big question on the mind of Chargers nation is who is going to catch the balls thrown by Rivers? And that means the Chiefs carry a 10-game streak into a season full of optimism that begins against the San Diego Chargers on Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium. Former first-round pick Dee Ford has not lived up to expectations, and a season-ending hip injury to middle linebacker Josh Mauga leaves the linebacker corps in flux.

Charles has been recovering from the major knee injury he suffered last October. “Maybe he won’t be, but you have to expect that”.

In both instances, the transition has been relatively seamless.

We here at BSD all wish Ross the best and look forward to picking him up off the fantasy waiver wires (hopefully sooner rather than later).

On offense they brought back wide receivers Frankie Hammond and Seantavius Jones, running back Darrin Reaves and offensive linemen Jarrod Pughsley and Daniel Munyer.
