Chargers put Allen on IR, activate Bosa day after big loss
San Diego Chargers linebacker Jeremiah Attaochu (97) sacks Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith (11) during the first half of an NFL football game in Kansas City, Mo., Sunday, Sept. 11, 2016. Everybody was going nuts, but I didn’t want to start celebrating. Maclin had two catches on the first drive and then disappeared until the fourth quarter, when he caught two huge throws including a 18-yard touchdown on a back-shoulder fade.

However, the second half was a completely different story.
The Saints had a chance to win on the final play, but Wil Lutz’s 61-yard field-goal attempts was wide left.
The Jaguars had a shot to pull off the upset when quarterback Blake Bortles led his offense to Green Bay’s 14-yard line with 23 seconds remaining before a short pass to receiver Allen Hurns on fourth-and-1 ended the team’s last gasp.
“I’m supporting Colin and what he’s doing, as far as raising awareness with the justice system”, said Peters, who grew up in Oakland, California. “In the second half, we settled down and played like we normally play. I’m just glad to have him”.
“Ken’s (offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt) is calling the game the way we see it as the flow of the game goes – the rhythm of the game and how you’re going to do things”, McCoy said.
The first half of the game was especially frustrating for Chiefs fans because both the offense and defense looked completely inept.
Smith was 34 of 48 for 363 yards and two touchdown passes and had 15 rushing yards.
Philip Rivers threw for 243 yards and a touchdown, and Melvin Gordon scored the first two TDs of his career. And ultimately, their ability to rally in the fourth quarter showed just how potent they can be once things start clicking.
The Chiefs’ offensive line got pushed around for three quarters, the defensive line was just as bad, and their secondary couldn’t keep up with the Chargers’ fleet of speedy wide receivers.
Spencer Ware led the Chiefs at running back this afternoon, impressing in the absence of the injured Jamaal Charles. “You’ve got to give them credit, they had an awesome fourth quarter and we didn’t do anything to counter”. Only Ware was able to consistently generate offense, with almost 200 yards and a score.
As Smith pointed out in his article, the Chargers could choose to designate Allen as the player they return from IR, but head coach Mike McCoy has confirmed the injury is season-ending.
Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen has been carted off the field late in the second quarter of their game against the Chiefs with what appears to be a serious right knee injury.
After a Verrett interception resulted in a missed field goal by Josh Lambo, the Chiefs continued to take over the game. San Diego’s first-round draft choice DE Joey Bosa did not dress for the game due to a hamstring strain.

Starting at running back spot with Charles inactive for the game as he continues to rehab from the torn ACL he suffered last October, Ware had 70 yards on 11 carries for a 6.4-yard average.
