A few days before his transplant, Stacy came down with a bad cold and doctors sent her home, fearful she’d transmit her illness to her husband.

The AP was granted access to the facility during Sager’s treatment.

Faith in humanity restored, if only for one day.

TNT sideline analyst Craig Sager known for his unique style is now also known for his strong fight against leukemia. The Associated Press reported that Barkley traveled from Phoenix to Houston against strict doctor’s orders to stay put and recover from his own hip replacement surgery.

“Craig Sager is one of the most interesting people I’ve ever met”, Barkley said.

“We go to see Sager to cheer him up and by the time you leave you’re like, ‘Is anything wrong with him?’, [Barkley said]”. Sager underwent his third bone marrow transplant Wednesday as he continues to battle acute myeloid leukemia. “When you go to try and cheer him up his attitude is so upbeat he cheers you up”.

“I like to gamble”, the TNT broadcaster told Associated Press. This time, the anonymous 20-year-old donor was considered a flawless match.

Sager was in good spirits on Wednesday morning as the process began. He playfully rolled his eyes at his wife, Stacy, when she chided him for not smiling for a photo where he lifted his shirt to show where the fluid was entering his body in a tube above his left pectoral muscle.
