The chemotherapy has diminished Craig Sager’s once lustrous chestnut hair to a few unruly strands, and on this day of hope a simple green T-shirt and blue shorts adorn the man known by millions for his ostentatious wardrobe and easy rapport with the NBA’s elite.
The sports world is rallying around beloved TNT reporter Craig Sager, as he continues his battle with leukemia. CORRECTS FROM MD ANDERSON HOSPITAL TO MD ANDERSON CANCER CENTER -Sportscaster Craig Sager lies in his bed while receiving a transplant Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2016, at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. Central time and it wasn’t complete until more than 10 hours later.
Dr. Muzaffar Qazilbash, Sager’s stem cell transplantation physician, researched thousands of such transplants at MD Anderson over the last 15 years to illustrate just how uncommon Sager’s current procedure is.
According to the Associated Press, doctors needed Stacy to stay away from Craig out of concern for his health. “It’s very rare”, he said.
“I’m supposed to be smiling for this?” he asked with a laugh. He hopes he is healthy enough to work the sidelines opening night of the upcoming National Basketball Association season.
