Four of the Bucs’ first five games are on the road as Charleston Southern gets a bye next week, then hits the road once again to face Monmouth on September 24.NOTES: Florida State K Ricky Aguayo, who broke the school record last week with six field goals against Ole Miss, drilled a 46-yarder in the fourth quarter in his only try to cap the scoring in Saturday’s win.

The school has not confirmed any suspensions for the Florida State game, but if these players’ statements are true, it’s going to make for an extremely lopsided affair.

Charleston Southern lost to North Dakota State 24-17 in overtime at the Fargodome in the season opener August 27.

Charleston Southern football players announced the suspensions on social media on Thursday, lashing out at their university for failing to inform them of the consequences of what on the surface appears to be a minor infraction. The players said campus bookstore employees suggested they spend the leftover money there “because it disappears if we don’t”.

Chadwell did say after the game that in their discussions with the NCAA that there shouldn’t be any additional surprises as far as more players needing to sit a game. According to Robinson, he was given the opportunity to sit out this Saturday’s game against Florida State University or an upcoming game against a conference opponent. Cook scored Florida State’s second and sixth TDs of the game before giving way to backup RB Jacques Patrick, who notched one TD on Saturday late in the second quarter.

CSU officials had subsequently declined to discuss the development, although head coach Jayme Chadwell did confirm in an interview with Scott Eisberg of WCIV-TV that “some good players for us” will be left home for the FSU game.

“CSU Football has been dealing with a witch hunt the first 3 weeks”, Korn wrote. There are reports players can choose to sit out against the Seminoles or a contest against Monmouth on September 24.

They dominated the Rebels in the third quarter, scoring all of the game’s 23 points, on their way to a 45-34 win, capping the largest comeback in school history.

James got injured delivering a massive hit to a Charleston Southern player knocking him out-of-bounds. The players were suspended for spending scholarship money allocated for books on other items, a source told ESPN’s Brett McMurphy.

Offensive lineman Frank Cirone said the entire offensive line was among those suspended.

‘The protection of its students/athletes should be a number one priority.

In a separate incident, a Charleston Southern assistant is set to serve a one-game suspension against Florida State for an impermissible social media contact with a high school player. This is the second time in two years I am ineligible to participate due [to] issues that could have been avoided if the necessary steps were taken by Charleston Southern’.
