Charlie Strong addresses Miami Hurricanes head coaching rumors
It wasn’t what Charlie Strong expected for the first 23-games of his head coaching career at Texas. Everyone speculated what he might say, with a few people way out there thinking that he might offer up his resignation.

During a brief post-practice news conference, Strong said the continued speculation that he’ll be a candidate at Miami is “all a rumor” and reiterated he’s not looking to leave.
“I have to be successful here”, Strong said.
With the college football season still ongoing here, you’d expect an answer like this either way. Those two “know what the situation is”, he said, and that the Longhorns have a bright future with a wealth of young talent.
Strong is now in his second year at Texas, and is 10-13 overall with the Longhorns.
“I don’t know where that comes from”. The thing I got to do is continue to work here and get this done. “An we’ve just got to get better”. I can see where it’s upsetting and everybody’s disappointed.
Strong said no one is more frustrated than him about the team’s progress and says he feels wanted by Fenves and Perrin. He changed play-callers after the season-opening loss to Notre Dame, and it’s likely he’ll find another play-caller this offseason. Strong said senior running back Johnathan Gray and freshman guard Patrick Vahe are day-to-day, while sophomore running back D’Onta Foreman is out after finger surgery.
