Cody Zeller made a layup off an inbounds play with 0.6 seconds left to lift the Charlotte Hornets to a 95-93 victory over the NY Knicks on Wednesday night.

Zeller had set a pick for Jeremy Lin under the Hornets basket, then alertly released to the hoop inside of Robin Lopez for the layup. Knicks rookie Kristaps Porzingis seemingly swished the winning 3-pointer, but a review by the officials showed Porzingis didn’t get the shot off before the final horn sounded.

“Sometimes I think about the things I’m asking him to do against the people that I’m asking him to do it against”, Mitchell said. We’re in for a big weekend, though, so make sure you get rested up before tomorrow night.

“Cody made a great finish, but Spencer Hawes made the play because he used a good pass fake and there were options for him on either side”, Hornets coach Steve Clifford said. “It was a good win for us”.

Jeremy Lin scored 19 points and Jeremy Lamb added 18 to lead the Hornets to a 104-95 victory on Tuesday night. 4 seconds left. During the timeout, the refs put two-tenths of a second back on the clock, accounting for the elapsed time between the ball going through the basket and the clock actually stopping. Guard Jose Calderon scored 13, guard Arron Afflalo 12 in his Knicks regular-season debut, and Porzingis contributed 10 points and 15 rebounds.

Kristaps had a double-double (10 PTS/10 REB) with 10:45 to play in the 3rd quarter, his fourth in the last six games, and more impressively…

The Knicks had 17 turnovers. The Hornets led by two at the half 49-47. He concluded the game with 29 points and six boards after a 1 of 5 shooting start. But the bench couldn’t hold it. Lin paced Charlotte’s comeback against New York’s reserves, so that when Anthony returned with about eight minutes remaining, the score was knotted at 82. A nonetheless screen capture of this jump shot exposed in that the backboard lit up with one-tenth of a 2nd left on the clock.

“I didn’t deliver”, Anthony said. “Obviously a year ago didn’t go as well as I wanted it to go – not saying that it was bad, but it wasn’t how I, or any of us for that matter, wanted it to go”.

Seconds earlier he had missed both free throws off an ill-timed foul by NY Knicks forward Lance Thomas.in a tie game.

The Knicks return to NY for a three-game home stretch with match-ups against the Cleveland Cavaliers, New Orleans Pelicans and a rematch with the Hornets. A steady march to the free-throw line coupled with a 3-point barrage allowed the Hornets to expand that lead.

The Charlotte Hornets seemed as though they couldn’t miss a shot last time they took on the Bulls but this one probably won’t be like their last match-up. Improved to 4-0 when leading at the half this season.

Big Al and Kemba combined for 15 points on 4-21 shooting from the floor.
