Charlotte Mayor Asks Clinton and Trump to Delay Their Visits
Team Clinton announced shortly after 9:30 p.m. Friday that after “discussion with community leaders”, the candidate would push back her journey from this coming Sunday to the following weekend so as not to cause any disruptions. But Clinton made a decision to postpone the trip hours later after Charlotte Mayor Jennifer Roberts – also a Democrat – told CNN her city’s security resources were stretched thin and urged Clinton to delay her visit.

Clinton’s campaign did not mention Roberts’ request in a statement.
Charlotte Mayor Jennifer Roberts asked Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton to come visit the protest-ridden city later on down the road.
Keith Lamont Scott’s death on Tuesday is the latest in a string of police-involved killings of black men that have fueled outrage across America.
The news of the visit was revealed by Clinton aide Nick Merrill, a day after Trump signaled that he was also thinking of visiting the riot stricken city.
Clinton is calling on the city of Charlotte to publicly release the police video from the Scott shooting. “We must ensure justice & work to bridge divides”.
Friday night, Clinton’s camp responded – saying that she would delay for more than a week.
Clinton has called for officials in Charlotte to make public a police video showing the shooting of Scott.
Clinton says on Twitter that authorities should release the video of the shooting of the black man by Charlotte police. “Crooked Hillary’s bad judgement forced her to announce that she would go to Charlotte on Saturday to grandstand”, he tweeted.
And Trump is considering a trip to Charlotte next week after Monday’s debate, two aides told CNN Thursday.
