“This is definitely a special place”, Elliott said. “I know Elliott is a great speedway racer and he knew what he had to do to win the race and I knew what I had to do to try to keep him behind me”.
Brennan Poole got to the finish line first and thought he had won the race, until NASCAR officials reviewed the video of the finish and determined Sadler was ahead when the caution lights illuminated before Poole’s No. 48 Chevrolet reached the stripe.

Elliott is eager to finish his first plate race in the Sprint Cup Series.
“I think I’m upbeat today because I had so much fun racing with everybody”, he said.
It will be a Talladega Time Machine here Sunday afternoon.
Even if a relief driver should take over, the driver who took the green flag to start the race gets credit for the victory. “A lot of good stuff happened with RCR here, so hopefully we can continue that streak of good runs for RCR here”. I told everybody this morning, ‘We’ve got the auto to win this with. Earnhardt dropped to third followed by Matt Kesenth (192.181 mph) and Jimmie Johnson. (192.089 mph) and Brad Keselowski (192.008 mph) qualified sixth and seventh, respectively, with Denny Hamlin (191.954 mph), Carl Edwards (191.819 mph), Paul Menard (191.812 mph), Kasey Kahne (191.789 mph) and Martin Truex Jr.
Meanwhile, Tony Stewart and Ty Dillon practiced making switches in the No. 14 Stewart-Haas Racing Chevrolet. If Dillon wins, it will count as a victory for Stewart, since Stewart started the race. I want the guy who deserves to win the race to be the victor and go by the rules.
“I think for me to make the Chase, it needs to be because I ran the whole race and won the race”.
“NASCAR fans are capturing the pageantry and excitement of race day on their mobile devices and with Snapchat we’re able to share that experience well beyond the race track”, said Jill Gregory, NASCAR senior vice president, marketing and industry services.
Edwards bumped Busch out of his way on the last lap at Richmond to score his second consecutive victory.
“It doesn’t matter where you qualify, but just expected to have a little more speed, ” Busch said.
