Chase Utley’s appeal reportedly won’t be heard until after NLDS
The Dodgers vs. Mets live stream and televised Game 4 of the 2015 Major League Baseball playoffs NLDS takes place Tuesday night as New York looks to advance to the championship series.

As loud boos rang out during pregame introductions, Utley stared stone-faced straight into the lens while a camera lingered on his face for a few extra seconds. The Mets are playing for Rueben Tejada. Now, all that stands between New York and a trip to the NLCS is one of the best pitchers in baseball: Clayton Kershaw.
What did Utley think of the reception? Making that call is one way to take plays like the one Utley made out of the game.
Revved-up fans showed up early hungry for payback against Utley, left out of the lineup despite strong career numbers versus Harvey (6 for 18 with a home run).
Having watched replays of the Utley slide, it strikes me as dirty play, one that, properly, resulted in his two-game suspension. “I don’t think you can be on the fence”. “I believe his slide was in violation of Official Baseball Rule 5.09 (a)(13), which is designated to protect fielders from precisely this type of rolling block that occurs away from the base”, he said, according to UPROXX. “That lead didn’t last very long”, Don Mattingly said, noting the Mets’ four-run rally in the bottom of the second.
However, the Mets are confident their young southpaw is up to the task of matching up against Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander Clayton Kershaw in a potential clinching game of the National League Division Series. He was tagged for six runs and seven hits in three innings.
“You know, I’ve seen the guy pitch a lot of baseball games, and he worked harder tonight to give us five quality innings than I have seen him work at any time at any start“, manager Terry Collins said. The umpires did not start the teams with warnings about hitting batters in retaliation. I am not entirely sure I agree with the recent changes protecting the catcher to the degree they have mandated.
“We can’t pitch inside; now we won’t be able to break up double plays?” he said.
In fact, far from using technology to get the calls right, imposing replay onto baseball led to a massive injustice. There’s going to be someone who slides, makes a amusing slide or something, and it’s all part of the game. Fans later threw beer cans, cups and a whiskey bottle toward Rose’s left field position, and Cincinnati manager Sparky Anderson pulled the Reds off the field for nearly 20 minutes. Still, none of it was as edgy as the reception that John Rocker earned in 2000 with comments about New York City.
“I got a bunch of death threats from Korean people everywhere”, Coghlan recently told USA Today. That drew him a 14-day suspension, and when he returned to Shea with Atlanta, the Mets limited beers sales to two per person at a time instead of four.
The fans in attendance essentially dedicated the night to Utley, the Mets’ longtime adversary who broke the leg of starting shortstop Ruben Tejada with a vicious takeout slide in Saturday’s Game 2. The Mets beat the Dodgers 13-7 in Game 3 on Monday to take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-five series.
“I feel awful about Ruben’s injury”, Utley said in a statement Monday. He was outpitched by Jacob deGrom in a 3-1 defeat at Los Angeles in the series opener.

NOTES: McHale had been MLB’s executive vice-president of administration from 2002 until April, when he received his new title. The appeal meant the penalty could not start until after a hearing and a decision.
