Chatwood leads Rockies to 5-3 win over Padres
The Rockies will look to rebound after a sluggish effort last night as their struggle at Coors Field continues as they are now just 10-16 at home this season with opposing teams teeing off with the high altitude.

San Diego Padres v Colorado Rockies Jon Gray #55 of the Colorado Rockies pitches against the San Diego Padres in the first inning of a game at Coors Field on June 10, 2016 in Denver, Colorado.
Luis Perdomo came on and gave up an infield single to LeMahieu followed by Nolan Arenado’s two-run homer, his 19th of the season. He’s been stellar away from Denver with a major league-best 0.65 road ERA.
The Colorado Rockies have placed closer Jake McGee on the 15-day disabled list with knee inflammation and promoted left-handed pitcher Tyler Anderson from Triple-A Albuquerque to take his place, according to Thomas Harding. They acquired him June 4 in a trade with the White Sox that sent James Shields to Chicago.
Jon Gray pitched seven solid innings, allowing three runs, one earned, and striking out seven in a hard-luck no decision.
Both pitchers started out rocky, with Chatwood allowing two runs in the first and Johnson surrendering a three-run homer to Gonzalez. 3B Yangervis Solarte left in the fourth with a bruised left thumb. On Saturday morning, Cashner will arrive at the ballpark with a 4.75 ERA over 53 innings in a walk-year, a 9-21 record over the last two seasons and perhaps an expiration date on his time in San Diego. “It was a good first step”, manager Walt Weiss said.
The Padres have won the first two games of each of their previous three series with the Rockies this year and will try to continue that success behind Erik Johnson, who will make his Padres debut.
Rockies: RHP Adam Ottavino (Tommy John surgery) had a successful outing with Class-A Modesto on Friday.

The Padres are 17-35 in their last 52 road games, 3-7 in their last 10 against the NL West, and 0-8 in their last eight road games against a righty while the Rockies are 4-1 in their last five overall, 5-13 in their last 18 Saturday games and 4-1 in Chatwood’s last five starts.
