Directed by Ram Madhvani, “Neerja” is a Fox Star Studios presentation of a Bling Unplugged and Fox Star Studio production. Cinematography was handled by Mitesh Mirchandani and Editing was done by Monisha R Baldawa.

And now, 29 years after that heartbreaking incident, we will get to see what a brilliant and vivacious person Neerja was through the Fox Star India biopic Neerja. The movie features Sonam Kapoor in a title role, along with well known music composer cum singer Sekhar Ravjiani and Shabana Azmi in supporting characters. It depicts the happenings of the fateful day of September 5, 1986 when a flight from Mumbai to NY was hijacked by terrorists during a stop over in Karachi, Pakistan. Neerja became the youngest and first woman recipient of the prestigious Ashok Chakra Award, posthumously. She was only 22 when she passed away. The trailer of the movie will be released on 17 December. On the same a source has been quoted by a publication saying, “Sonam will be going to Maldives with her girl gang this year”.
