Check Out the Trailer for Sherlock’s Haunting Victorian Special
Good to have you back, Holmes.

Set apart from the continuity of the main show, the episode will be a stand-alone story with our heroes (played as usual by Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman) investigating a seemingly impossible case. For now, check out the new trailer for Sherlock below…
The trailer also offered glimpses of a retro Lestrade (Rupert Graves) and teased a few gothic horror (but probably not to the level of Crimson Peak).
“The special is its own thing”, Steven Moffat confirmed earlier this year, making it clear that the episode won’t drastically change the format of Sherlock moving forwards. “It’s the Sherlock as you know it, but in the correct era”. However, fans should be excited as the teaser itself promised more to come later in the week — presumably a full trailer or an announcement of a formal release date that’s to come on October 7. “I think it’s really terrific”. At summer TCA press tour, Moffat explained to journalists how he and co-creator Mark Gatiss had fun indulging in this standalone story. Unlike the regular show, which takes place in contemporary London, the special will be set in the Victorian time period of the original Sherlock Holmes novels.
BBC’s modern Sherlock is returning to its roots in a new TV special.
That’s unfortunate, but at least more details will finally be released regarding the much-awaited next season of “Sherlock”.

Immediately after the season finale of The Great British Bake Off finished airing, BBC One dropped a new full-length trailer for the upcoming feature-length Sherlock special, which is expected to air this Christmas.
