The Brazil worldwide arrived in London later in the day and Chelsea – who have already sealed the signing of Marcos Alonso from Fiorentina – have confirmed that a fee has been agreed with the Ligue 1 champions.
Chelsea have officially confirmed the re-signing of Brazilian defender David Luiz from PSG, subject to a medical and the agreement of personal terms.
David Luiz has returned to Chelsea from Paris St Germain on a three-year contract. I can not wait to wear the shirt and play at Stamford Bridge again.
After re-joining the club, speaking to the club website, the 29-year-old Brazilian centre-back said: “I’m delighted to return to Chelsea”.
Here, David Luiz completes his move back to Chelsea.
And Nevin is convinced manager Antonio Conte’s transfer deadline day business – which also saw Spanish full-back Marcos Alonso sign – has been both excellent and vital.
During Luiz’s first spell at Stamford Bridge, he played 143 games, scoring 12 goals and getting 10 assists.
The 25-year-old returns to the Premier League after having previously played at Bolton and Sunderland.
PSG paid a reported 50 million pounds, a world record fee for a defender, when Luiz moved to Chelsea in June 2014.
Antonio Conte’s side made five signings in the transfer window with Michy Batshuayi, N’Golo Kante and Eduardo being the early arrivals at the club.
Chelsea now holds second place in the Premier League standings, with Manchester City at the first.
“I am excited to meet everyone at the club, to see the stadium and of course the fans, who I have heard so many good things about”.
