English Premier League clubs Chelsea and Tottenham have been issued a heavy fine to the tune of £600,000 by the FA, after both clubs failed to control their players when they clashed on May 2.

The result ended Tottenham’s hopes of winning the title and handed the trophy to Leicester City.
The match produced 12 yellow cards and the fines are over two incidents during the game and one after full-time.
Chelsea were fined £375,000 pounds ($795,000 NZD) and Spurs £225,000 (477,000 NZD) following incidents during and after the game at Stamford Bridge. So it’s not that Chelsea were nastier than Spurs were in this match, but that they’ve been consistently nastier than Spurs over the course of the past two seasons.
Spurs had nine players booked during the match, with Mousa Dembele also receiving a six-match ban for violent conduct after he made contact with Chelsea striker Diego Costa’s eyes during one of a number of player clashes.
Tottenham has been issued a fine of £225,000 and Chelsea £375,000 for breaching FA Rule E20, “failure to control their players and/or officials”.
The unusually large size of the fines was triggered by Chelsea and Tottenham’s previous charges for similar offenses over the last 18 months.

The teams clashed just before half time and in the 87th minute of an ill-tempered match at Stamford Bridge.
