Presnel Kimpembe #3 and David Luiz #32 of Paris Saint-Germain shake hands as they walk to the sideline against Leicester City during the 2016 International Champions Cup at StubHub Center on July 30, 2016 in Carson, California.

The newspaper claims that Conte and his team had been on the search for a new defender all summer and had in fact identified youth prospect Kimpembe as their target.

Chelsea were keen to bolster their options at centre-back, with Kurt Zouma’s ongoing recovery from injury leaving John Terry and Gary Cahill as Antonio Conte’s only fit, experienced options.

Luiz, 29, became the world’s most expensive defender in 2014 when Chelsea sold him to PSG for around 50 million pounds ($65 million, 58 million euros). “I can’t wait to wear the shirt and play in Stamford Bridge again”.

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has welcomed the return of David Luiz to Stamford Bridge, while also admitting he is pleased Diego Costa chose to stay at the club.

The Luiz deal came a matter of hours after Chelsea signed former Bolton left-back Marcos Alonso from Serie A outfit Fiorentina for £23m.

“Of course I want to win the Premier League, but of course I want to win all the other titles again”.

“I’ve always wanted to play in the Premier League and to get the opportunity to do that with the reigning champions was something I simply could not turn down”, Slimani said.

“We also saw a new record level of Premier League summer deadline day spending this window, with 155 million pounds spent in the final 24 hours”, said Jones. “I love this club, that’s why I am here”, Luiz told www.chelseafc.com.

“I think David is a very good player”.
