Chelsea Clinton: Things you may not know
While Clinton’s speech focused on her mother’s child rearing, public service, and political battles, it also sought to bolster the Democratic nominee’s lackluster polling numbers on the question of trustworthiness. Even in talking about the former secretary of state’s work for education reform as the first lady of Arkansas, her ultimately unsuccessful push for universal health care during her husband’s administration, or her work for the victims of the September 11 attacks as a US senator, Chelsea Clinton focused less on what her mother did and more on what motivated her.

Chelsea Clinton, daughter of Democratic Party nominee Hillary Clinton, praised her mother’s dedication to public service in her speech introducing the former secretary of state to the DNC, saying that “she never forgets who she’s fighting for”.
Banking on examples of her own life and thanking Hillary for “being a pillar of strength”, 36-year-old Chelsea said she has always seen her mother as a woman driven by passion for her work and compassion for others.
“Whenever my mom was away for work, which thankfully didn’t happen very often, she left notes for me to open every day she was gone”.
Chelsea Clinton married her longtime boyfriend, investment banker Marc Mezvinsky, in a private ceremony on July 31, 2010. They taught me that’s the responsibility that comes with being smiled on by fate.
The mother of two also says she isn’t sweating the harsh attacks on her mom during the campaign. As girls, each one turned serious early in part because neither enjoyed much unstructured playtime with her parents. Figuring out what she could do, who she could call. It was bruising. It was exhausting.
“My mom is my role model in life”, Chelsea gushes exclusively to ET’s Nischelle Turner. Chelsea talked about her childhood and how Hillary interacts with her husband and grandchildren. For me, 14 years old, it was pretty tough to watch.
Since then, Chelsea has come into her own.
In Cleveland, Ivanka directly engaged critics who have challenged her father’s hiring practices and treatment of women, calling him “color-blind and gender-neutral”. “I hope they are even just a fraction of as proud of me as I am about my mom”. How does she keep doing, amid the sounds and the fury of politics?
Chelsea Clinton wrote a book It’s Your World: Get Informed, Get Inspired & Get Going and it sold very well The book is aimed at teens and children to help inspire them with stories of those who made a difference in their families and communities.

She has become a key asset to her mother’s campaign, with a unique ability to make a personal pitch, softening and humanizing Hillary Clinton’s image to that of a mother and grandmother. “No matter what”, she said, “she was always always there for me”. “And Mom, Grandma would be so, so proud of you tonight”.
