Chelsea Coach Jose Mourinho Fired After Team’s Losing Start

Chelsea Football Club on Thursday said it parted ways with its Coach, Jose Mourinho, because of the club’s poor runs in recent times.

Mourinho faced mounting pressure in his second stint as club manager, after his Chelsea side managed to get just 15 points from 15 matches, and are now languishing at 16th place in the league.

Terry, who was dropped by the Portuguese manager this season, posted a picture of him with Mourinho on Instagram and wrote, “Thank You doesn’t seem enough Sad sad day Gonna miss you Boss The Very Best I have EVER worked with, unbelievable memories together”, goal.com reported.

His legacy at Stamford Bridge and in England has long been guaranteed and he will always be warmly welcomed back to Stamford Bridge.

Guus Hiddink appeared to be the front-runner to take the helm and reprise the caretaker manager role he filled after Luiz Felipe Scolari was sacked in 2009.

Chelsea owner, Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, signed Mourinho to a four-year contract this summer.

“Whilst there is huge sentiment for the individual who has done so much for the club, the fact of the matter remains that Chelsea Football Club is in trouble”, he told Chelsea TV.

Minto believes Mourinho’s management of adversity this season only made Chelsea’s problems worse – something he warns the decision-makers of Europe’s top clubs will not have failed to notice.

“The Chelsea board have thought ‘where do we go from here?’ It is much easier to get rid of your manager than a bunch of players”.

“The owner is forced to make what is a very trough decision for the good of the club”.

“Anybody, any fan, who loves the club or has any affiliation with the club can understand this club is in trouble”.

Mourinho’s departure follows nine defeats in 16 league games this term, results that have caused a shocking descent into the relegation mire.

Former Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti is another candidate, but in the short term Guus Hiddink is the leading contender to return to Stamford Bridge on an interim basis.

Managers’ boss Richard Bevan admitted he was caught cold by Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea exit.

“The results are not good”.

But his last season with Chelsea began in acrimonious fashion with the departure of club medic Eva Carneiro. At the time, Mourinho – in a prescient interview with The Irish Times – said he dislikes what he said was a culture of untenable impatience surrounding English football.
